Copper
Tubing and Fittings are a proven material. Copper is a
non-ferrous metal that precludes rusting and when installed by
trained plumbers it is a permanent system and backed by a 50 year
manufacturer's warranty. For the purpose of residential projects,
two grades are normally used and acceptable, the types being "Type
M" and "Type L". At Arizona West Plumbing, we use Type L, which is
the thicker grade. All joints are soldered together with leadfree
materials.
PC.PV.
Tubing or "Chlorinated Poly Vinyl Chloride" is a proven
material marketed by a number of manufacturers. Our preferred
brand is "Flow Guard". It is joined by a patented onestep glue and
when installed correctly will provide many years of trouble-free
service.
P.E.X.
Tubing or "Cross Lined Poly Ethylene" is marketed by a
number of manufacturers. The type we use is called by the trade
name "Wirsbo", manufactured by Uponor. P.E.X. tubing has a unique
molecular structure allowing it to withstand the rigors of
temperature differentials. It is faster to install and requires
copper or brass transition fittings.
